Okay, so like i was watching the latest fansubs of Katekyō Hitman Reborn! and the anime's at the 10 year arc and the credits show the guardian's all grown up and yummy.  I mean seriously hot, even extreme!Ryohei grew up hot.  I even like rewinded the credits to watch it all over again, how sad is that?  Though I have to admit I was a bit disappointed at how Yamamoto looked.  I think it was the scar.  I just didn't care much for it on his chin.  I think if it was in a different place, it would be a different story for me...but oh well. 

(I always knew Gokudera-kun was going to grow up smokin...)

Haha, I know it's been a while since I posted anything.  I am working on the next chapter of CwM, though I really don't know when it'll be posted.  On a totally separate note, I am currently doing  a study abroad in London, England which is supremely awesome and has kept me busy.  Just last week I went to Wimbledon Stadium for the tour and I don't even watch or play tennis.  I went because I like Prince of Tennis and thought 'Oh, if I go to Wimbledon, if I ever write about it in my fics, my descriptions would be accurate.'  How sad is that?

For the past three days I've been reading this series non-stop.  It's quite excellent in terms of plot, characters, and exececution.  That said, I wanted to encourage those who haven't read it to to do so.  It is available in english courtesy of Viz.  However, for those who want to try it first, I have the first 3 volumes available for download.

Summary at ANN: When a doctor makes the highly controversial decision to save a boy's life over the mayor's, it leads to the loss of almost everything he holds dear. I was suppose post this entry like sometime last month.  God, I fail.  Anyhoo, a bunch of Tezuka/Ryoma fic recs because Pillar Pair is ♥.

First off, we got bookshop's massive Tezuka/Ryoma: Fandom Recommendations.  There are tons of fic on the list that I love and will be mentioning as well.

Speaking of bookshop, all her fics are fabulous, along with kishmet. God, I love kishmet tezu/ryo fics, especially with Stalker!Ryoma and Indulgent!Tezuka.  I don't know, it fulfills some sort of kink within me I guess.  storytellerific has some awesome fics as well so please check her out.  Oh course, everyone knows of pillarchallenge and tezukaryouma where one can find all sorts of Pillar Pair goodies.

As for individual fic recs, these all have happy endings, or at least have ending I view as happy/hopeful.  There are some really great fics with sad endings but I really like my angst to come with a happy end.  Anyway, here we go:

Focus by Sweedy-sama - The how and why of Tezuka and Ryoma becoming a couple.  Multi-chapter, wip, in-series.  This is not the best Tezu/Ryo story out there but for some strange reason, I always go back and reread this thing.  The characters are not always ic and some of the things that occur in the story somewhat squicks me a bit, but there are moments where you just love what you're reading.
Conversations did not start with Tezuka; conversations went to Tezuka to die.

Be Like Buchou by soundczech - Tezuka and Ryoma switch bodies.  Chaos ensues, or not. Love ensues, of course.
“Everyone was afraid of me all day,” Ryoma says. “It was awesome.”

Everything That Falls by bookshop - Tezuka tells Ryoma to fly.  Ryoma refuses to fly alone. Tennis, love, sex, and angst occur, of course.  Great illustrations as well.
“You’re still you, Tezuka,” Oishi says. “When you can’t control a thing you always make it harder than it has to be.”

Playing Grown Ups by soundczech - Tezuka and Ryoma are both teenagers, not adults, even if Tezuka looks and acts like one.
Tezuka wonders if Fuji is right. He wonders if he is acting like a child. He thinks of Echizen’s confident fingers against his skin, how brave he was, how brave he always is. Tezuka wonders if he is in love.

Rebirth by kessie - Tennis, college exams, text messages, and Ryoma.
Buchou… what would you do if you liked someone? Would you tell them? Or show them?

Being Manly: 101 by mysticblueside - Because everyone knows tennis is more manly then football.
“It’s a challenge. We have to prove to the school that tennis really is a manly sport,” Fuji replied calmly, robin’s egg blue shirt unbuttoned slightly at the top to reveal a silver necklace of charms.

Liking by kishmet - Ryoma wants to find out Buchou likes.  So he decides to stalk him.
Tezuka glanced back and to his right. Then he looked ahead again, and said, “Echizen, what are you doing?”

Call Me by kishmet - Ryoma misses his Buchou.  You know what that means?  More stalker!Ryoma!
In the silence that followed, Ryoma rolled over on the bed so that he was looking up at the ceiling. “Buchou, what are you doing tomorrow?”

“Are you going to follow me again?”

“Well, what are you doing?”

Programmed and Technophilia by kishmet - Tezuka is a robot and I don't mean that metaphorically.  Watch out for the second one, that one is totally NWS.  Oh, you know what I mean...
“How are you? And how is Tezuka?” Ryoma could hear Fuji’s knowing smile all the way from his end of the line.

“We’re fine.” Ryoma didn’t want to get caught up in small talk. “How do people have sex with computers?”

the case of the missing phonecall, or: favorable outcome by cimness -  In which gothic romances, english mysteries, and Le Petit Prince is read.  Oh, and Tezuka keeps giving Ryoma his number.
"I like lots of kinds of books," Tezuka told him, holding out the books, and Echizen's face stayed blank. "But I like mysteries the best," he added, and Echizen smiled slowly.

And that's the end of a good sized list.  Hope y'all like these as much as I did...^_^

Prince of Tennis and TezuRyo has eaten my brains.  No really.  When PoT first came out of the closet I watched it and thought it was okay but it never caught my imagination.  I think it was because I thought Ryoma was a brat and I like my sports series protagonist to be talented but hard working and basically modest about their abilities (see Whistle!, Hajime no Ippo, Harlem Beat, Eyeshield 21, etc.) though I adored Fuji for his somewhat sadistic nature and hidden bad-assedness.  I also thought Tezuka was the coolest thing ever and that he was so not 14 years old (who the hell draws a 14 year old as if they were 30?).  And when my source ran dried, I just shrugged and headed off to greener anime pastures.

But then about 3 weeks ago I read a TezuRyo fic (can’t remember the fic though, weird) and then I spent the next two days devouring what TezuRyo I could get my grabby little hands on.  Dude, I was completely converted to this pairing.  I’m still trying to find every good TezuRyo fic out there on the web and have found some really great authors/stories which I will be reccing in a short while.

So with all this external stimuli of course I had to write a fic.  I have little to no confidence that my Ryoma voice is spot on because I confess that I have only seen PoT up to the point where Tezuka is in Germany, though in manga, I am up to the part where Tezuka has come back for Nationals.  Also, some author has already mentioned it, but in both the anime and manga, you never really get to hear Ryoma’s inner monologue.  It’s like he has none and it makes characterization somewhat difficult. This is totally unbetaed (which is apparently how I roll) so there could be some problems with my tenses.  I tried to catch my mistakes but no one's perfect.  Except maybe Atobe

Also, I totally want to write a short series dealing with this pairing in which the 10 developmental tasks for adolescence is written about, but I have no idea if I'll actually do it...I'm a bad fic author like that...

Can someone explain to me why it's TezukaRyoma and not TezukaEchizen or KunimistuRyoma?  I just find it weird that it's one persons last name and other person's first name.  I believe in equality of names between lovers and it's one of my pet peeves when a couple is in a relationship for a while and one or both still use the last name to address each other by...

One last thing: How can a series not be crack when it's acronym is POT?  Ah, now that's a question for the ages...
